Main responsibilities

Due to a strong order book, our client is looking for a Principal Engineer to join their expanding team. You will be required to use their state of the art 3D CAD modelling system to provide concept designs for sophisticated military vehicle suspension systems for a variety of vehicles—any thing from ultra lightweight wheeled vehicles, through to the heaviest Battle Tanks.

• Concept designs for a wide variety of military vehicle suspension systems
  
• Supervise prototype and development builds
  
• Generate and manage reliability data.

Skills and Experience required

• Degree qualified in mechanical or related engineering discipline
  
• Experience of hydraulics, high pressure and gas sealing technologies is essential
  
• Demonstrable mechanical engineering and analytical skills
  
• Experience of working with customers and developing concepts to meet their requirements
  
• Experience in advanced technology industries, defence, aerospace and automotive design is highly desirable
•  Detailed understanding of FEA tools
  
• Familiarity with DOORS or similar systems Solidworks, PRO ENG, Catia V4/V5.
  
• This role will require some global travel.
